This numberis assigned to the entry in the listing and isreferenced in the narrative instructions toidentify the material (e. g., “Use cleaningcompound, item 5, appx D“).b. Column (2)–Level. This column iden-tifies the lowest level of maintenance that re-quires the listed item.C–Operator/Crewc .Column (3) – National Stock Number.This is the National stock number assigned tothe item; use it to request or requisition theitem.d. Column (4)–Description. Indicates theFederal item name and, if required, a descrip-tion to identify the item. The last line for eachitem indicates the Federal Supply Code forManufacturer (FSCM) in parentheses followedby the part number.e. Column (5) – Unit of Measure (UMW). In-dicates the measure used in performing theactual maintenance function. This measure isexpressed by a two-character alphabetical ab-breviation (e. g., ea, in., pr). If the unit ofmeasure differs from the unit of issue, requi-sition the lowest unit of issue that will satisfyyour requirements.D-1
