( T M D E ) ; a n d o t h e r s p e c i a l s u p p o r t e q u i p m e nt
required for performance of unit, direct support,
and general support maintenance of the M578
Recovery Vehicle. It authorizes the requisition-
ing, issue, and disposition of spares, repair
parts, and special tools as indicated by the
s o u r c e , m a i n t e n a n c e , a n d r e c o v e r a b i l i t y ( S M R)
c o d e s.
2 . G E N E R A L . In addition to Section I, Intro-
duction, this Repair Parts and Special Tools List
is divided into the following sections:
a . S e c t i o n I I . R e p a i r P a r t s L i s t . A list of
spares and repair parts authorized by this
RPSTL for use in the performance of mainte-
nance. The list also includes parts which must
be removed for replacement of the authorized
parts. Parts lists are composed of functional
g r o u p s i n a s c e n d i n g a l p h a n u m e r i c s e q u e n c e,
with the parts in each group listed in ascending
f i g u r e a n d i t e m n u m b e r s e q u e n c e . B u l k m a t e-
rials are listed in item name sequence. Repair
parts kits are listed separately in their own func-
tional group within Section II. Items listed are
shown on the associated illustration(s)/figure(s).
