TM 9-2350-256-34-1(c) Hold the vaporizer firmly against theretaining washer and pull the wick back through thevaporizer until the wick is taut. Clip off excess wickclose to the smaIl end of the vaporizer.(d) Insert screw through hole in fuel vaporizershield and slide the insulating washer (11 ) and flatwasher (10) onto screw on inside of vaporizer shield.Attach this assembly to the plate and bushingassembly by tightening screw. If the assembly failsto tighten the vaporizer firmly in position, install asecond insulating washer (11 ) between vaporizer andflat washer (10).NOTEWhen assembled, the fuel vaporizer mustbe held firmly in place against theretaining washer. The wick must bepositioned so that it does not touch anypart of the plate and bushing assemblyexcept the wick support.(e) Slide studs of burner cup and stud assem-bly (14) through proper holes in plate and bushingassembly (4). Slide three flat washers (3) over studsand secure with three nuts (2) and three lock nuts (1).(f) Reform wick support in igniter pocket asrequired to maintain l/4-inch gap between wick andend of the igniter pocket, as shown in figure3-10.10.(3) Blower reassembly (fig. 3-10.3).(a) Install the ventilation blower wheelassembly (6) on the motor shaft and tighten the set-screw until it is snug.(b) Assemble the resistor (22) and associatedparts (19 through 22) on one of the motor mountingbrackets (8).(c) Reconnect the wires to the diode mountingassembly (13), resistor (22), and motor (7).CAUTIONDo not operate the motor without thediode assembly ground lead secured tothe motor housing. This diode protectsthe diode assembly from damage causedby voltage spikes generated when themotor is deenergized.(d) Install the voltage limiter assembly (5,figure 3-10.3), diode mounting assembly (13), andresistor mounting bracket (8) in the blower housingassembly (3), using screws (4). Refer to figure3-10.11 for correct assembly positions. Not all theleads will reach if the components are not installedas shown.3-18.22Change 2
