WINTERIZATION KIT–CONTINUED
COOLANT HEATER OPERATION
l Operate coolant heater con-
tinually whenever engine is
not operating and average
temperature is –25°F
(–32°C)
or
below.
l Do not operate coolant heat-
er longer than 12 hours with-
out recharging vehicle bat-
teries.
NOTE
Before first operation of coolant
heater, or after coolant system
had been drained and refilled,
purge air from coolant heater by
opening drain cock (5) located
under coolant heater control
panel. Run coolant heater until
air is no longer ejected from
draincock, then close draincock.
4 Hold RUN-OFF-START switch (6) in
1 Install cover (1) on radiator air intake grille
START position until light comes on.
and secure with snap fasteners.
2 Release exhaust port cover (2) from stow
position and lace in closed position.
3 Open spring-loaded cover (3) over coolant
heater control panel and press on light (4).
Light should come on.
NOTE
If light (4) does not come on
within 5 minutes notify unit
maintenance personnel.
