Broken wires can cause painful injuries.NOTE·Raising operating lever holds load in position.·Because main winch cable is so heavy, the hoist winch may be used to helppay out main winch cable. Rig boom for single line (see para. 2-11e).(f)Shift HOIST WINCH SHIFT lever to HIGH only when paying out or paying in hoist winch cable withoutload. Always handhold wire rope to keep some tension on ropes during this type of operation.g.Lockout Blocks.(1)General. Lockout blocks are used when you have to lift and carry loads from 6 to 20 tons (5.4 to 18.1metric tons). They prevent damaging front suspension system. Blocks will be used for carrying.(2)To install lockout blocks:(a)Raise front of vehicle by lowering spade (see para. 2-11d).(b)Slide block (1) over inside spindle (2) of front roadwheel on each side.2-144
