CHAPTER 2: VEHICLE MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONSTM 9-2350-256-202-19 ELECTRICAL TROUBLESHOOTING-ContinuedSERVICE HEADLIGHTS-ContinuedWARNINGRemove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags,bracelets, etc. If jewelry contacts a metalsurface a direct short may result in instantheating of tools, damage to equipment, andinjury or death to personnel.J Reconnect switch panel to gage panel andmiscellaneous switches wiring harness to mainswitch panel. Disconnect main lighting andmaster relay wiring harness from main lightingswitch. Place a jumper wire from pin F to socketF. Place red lead of multimeter on pin M of wire16 and black lead to ground. Turn MASTERswitch on, UNLOCK and place main lightingswitch in SER. DRIVE position, and auxiliaryswitch in any position other than PARK, and checkfor voltage. Turn MASTER and main lightingswitches OFF. If voltage is present, go to step M.If voltage is not present, go to step N.K Reconnect main lighting and master relay wiringharness to main lighting switch. Disconnect wire16 of main lighting and master relay wiringharness at connector. Place red lead ofmultimeter on male connector of wire 16 andblack lead to ground. Turn MASTER switch on,UNLOCK and place main lighting switch in SER.DRIVE position, and auxiliary switch in anyposition other than PARK, and check for voltage.Turn MASTER and main lighting switches OFF. Ifvoltage is present, repair/replace wire 16 of mainlighting and B.O. selector switch wiring harness(see paragraph 6-69). If voltage is not present,repair/replace wire 16 of main lighting and masterrelay wiring harness (see paragraph 6-70).L Place red lead of multimeter in socket F of wire 15and black lead to ground. Turn MASTER switchon and check for voltage. Turn MASTER switchOFF. If voltage is present, replace main lightingswitch (see paragraph 6-10). If voltage is notpresent, go to step M.2-278
