SECTION V: TROUBLESHOOTINGTM 9-2350-256-20WARNINGRemove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags,bracelets, etc. If jewelry contacts a metalsurface a direct short may result in instantheating of tools, damage to equipment, andinjury or death to personnel.GRemove screw securing ground wire. Check groundwire for continuity by placing red lead of multimeter insocket G and black lead on ground wire terminal. Ifcontinuity is present, go to step H. If continuity is notpresent, repair/replace ground wire of smoke grenadelauncher system wiring harness (see paragraph 6-91).HReconnect ground wire. Place jumper wires from pin Gto socket G and from pin C to socket C. Place red leadof multimeter on pin B and black lead to ground. TurnMASTER and ARM SMOKE switches ON, push RIGHTswitch, and check for voltage. Turn MASTER and ARMSMOKE switches OFF. If voltage is present, go to stepI for right dischargers, and step K for left dischargers. Ifvoltage is not present, replace FIRE SMOKE boxassembly (refer to TM 3-1040-266-20&P).CAUTIONThe following steps apply to both the LEFTand RIGHT dischargers. The LEFT andRIGHT firing buttons fire three grenadesfrom each side at the same time. Failure todo all the steps could leave inoperativefiring on some tubes.IReconnect smoke grenade launcher system wiringharness to FIRE SMOKE box assembly. Disconnectcable assembly for M239 smoke grenade launcher, righthand side discharger feed through from grenadelauncher assembly. Place red lead of multimeter insocket C and black lead to ground. Turn MASTER andARM SMOKE switches ON push RIGHT switch, andcheck for voltage. Turn MASTER and ARM SMOKEswitches OFF. Check ground circuit for continuity byplacing red lead of multimeter in socket B and blacklead to ground. If voltage and continuity are present inall circuits, notify Direct Support Maintenance. Ifvoltage or continuity is not present in any circuit,repair/replace harness cable assembly for M239 smokegrenade launcher right hand side discharger feedthrough, (see paragraph 6-104).2-341
