DIRECT AND GENERAL SUPPORT MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Section I. REPAIR PARTS, SPECIAL TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
2-1. General
Tools, equipment and maintenance parts over and
above those available to the using organization
level are supplied to direct and general support
maintenance units for maintaining and repairing
the vehicle.
2-2. Parts
Maintenance parts are listed in TM 9-2350-256-
34P-1, TM 9-2350-256-34P-2, TM 9-2520-215-34P
(transmission) and TM 9-2815-220-34P (main
engine), which are the authorities for requisitioning
replacements.
T h e s u p p l y , m a i n t e n a n c e a n d
recoverability code (SMR) indicated for each item
determines if a component is to be replaced and/or
repaired and the level responsible for replacement
a n d / o r r e p a i r . I t i s i m p o r t a n t t h a t c a r e f u l
troubleshooting be used to determine, whenever
possible, what parts are to be replaced before the
component is torn down for repair.
2-3. Common Tools and Equipment
Standard and commonly used tools and equipment
having general application are authorized for issue
by TA and TOE.
2-4. Special Tools and Equipment
The special tools and equipment, listed in table 2-1
and illustrated in figure 2-1, are the only special
t o o l s a n d e q u i p m e n t n e c e s s a r y t o p e r f o r m t h e
maintenance operations described in this technical
manual. Refer to TM 9-2350-256-34P-1 and TM 9-
2350-256-34P-2 for special tools and equipment
allocations and requisitioning authority.
