6. TRANSMISSION OIL LEVEL CHECK -- CONTINUED
If no oil is present on oil gauge rod, add enough proper
grade oil (WP 0101 00--65) to transmission until oil level is
visible on oil gauge rod below ADD mark.
NOTE
Transmission oil sampling valve may be used to
remove excess oil from transmission.
If indicated oil level is above FULL mark on oil gauge rod,
start engine and remove excess oil from transmission. Re-
install transmission oil gauge rod into transmission oil filler
tube, close oil filler tube access doors, left side engine deck
exhaust grille and exhaust deflector (WP 0032 00).
CAUTION
The transmission oil level is now adequate to per-
mit vehicle engine to be started, but not to perform
vehicle operation. Failure to perform the transmis-
sion oil level check prior to vehicle operation could
result in transmission damage.
