Inspect For Water Entrya. Engine and transmission:Check the lubricant in the engine and transmission for evidence of water.If there is evidence that water has entered these units, drain, flush and refill, including replacing the filters,with the correct lubricants. (TM 9--2350--292--10 and WP 0187 00).b. Air cleaner intake assemblies:Check the air cleaner intake assemblies for evidence of water.If water is found, clean and service air cleaner assemblies (TM 9--2350--292--10).c. Batteries:Check the quantity of electrolyte and the specific gravity reading of the batteries (TM 9--2350--292--10).Service batteries, as necessary, if water has entered them.2. Service ArmamentRefer to TM 9--1005--213--10 and FM 23--65 for maintenance and lubrication services for the caliber .50 machine gun.3. LubricationLubricate vehicle in accordance with Lubrication Instructions (TM 9--2350--292--10 and WP 0187 00).4. Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (TM 9--2350--292--10 or WP 0187 00).5. Wash and CleanNOTEWhile washing vehicle, do not permit water to enter theengine exhaust and air intake pipes.a. If vehicle was forded in salt water, wash vehicle thoroughly in clean water.b. Clean out the hull and clean exposed surfaces of unpainted metal and touch up with paint as required.NOTEEmphasis should be placed upon the need for regularinspection, particularly of switches, relays and similarequipment, to guard against possible after effects of sub-mersion, such as corrosion and fusion of contact points.6. Install two access covers, gaskets and mounting hardware on hull under engine compartment (WP 0434 00).INSTALLATION OF SUBFLOOR PLATES, ENGINE DECK GRILLES AND ENGINE DECK DOORS.1. Install any subfloor plates (WP 0454 00) previously removed and not reinstalled.2. Install any engine deck grilles (TM 9--2350--292--10) previously removed and not reinstalled.3.
