MECHANICAL TACHOMETER, SHAFT ASSEMBLY, PULSE TACHOMETER,
ANGLE ADAPTER, DRIVE ADAPTER AND RELATED PARTS REPLACEMENT

Removal--Continued
5. Remove screw (10), lockwasher (11) and clamp (12) securing shaft assembly (13) to vehicle hull. Discard lock-
washer.
6. Disconnect shaft assembly (13) from coupling adapter (9) and coupling adapter (14).
7. Remove nut (15), lockwasher (16) and coupling adapter (9) from plate (17). Retain attaching hardware for instal-
lation.
8. Disconnect shaft assembly (18) from coupling adapter (14) and pulse tachometer (19).
9. Remove nut (20), lockwasher (21), rubber gasket (22) and coupling adapter (14) from plate (23). Retain attaching
hardware and rubber gasket for installation.
10. Disconnect wiring harness 3W202 leads (24) from pulse tachometer (19) leads, remove pulse tachometer (19)
from angle adapter (25).
11. Remove angle adapter (25) from drive adapter (26).
12. Remove four screws (27), four lockwashers (28), drive adapter (26) and preformed packing (29) from powerpack.
Discard lockwashers and preformed packing.
13. Inspect parts for damage and replace as required.
Installation
1. Install drive adapter (26) and new preformed packing (29) on powerpack with four screws (27) and four new lock-
washers (28).
2. Install angle adapter (25) in drive adapter (26).
3. Install pulse tachometer (19) on angle adapter (25) and connect wiring harness 3W202 leads (24) to pulse
tachometer (19) leads.
4. Install coupling adapter (14), rubber gasket (22), lockwasher (21) and nut (20) on plate (23).
