Replacementprocedures are the same for both.Removal1. Remove two screws (1), two lockwashers (2), plate (3), two screws (4), two lockwashers (5), guide (6) and screen(7). Discard lockwashers.2. Remove two screws (8), two lockwashers (9), two flat washers (10), hood (11), plate (12), cover (13) and screen(14) from hull. Discard lockwashers.3. Inspect parts for damage and replace as required.Installation1. Install screen (14), cover (13), plate (12) and hood (11) on hull with two screws (8), two new lockwashers (9) andtwo flat washers (10).NOTEScreen may be trimmed around perimeter and mountingholes at assembly to accommodate vehicle variations.Remove burrs and sharp edges and bend in protrudingends.Install guide in hole pattern that places guide closest tothe hull. If the stayline cable does not fit between theguide and the hull, it is acceptable to use the other holepattern.2. Install screen (7) and guide (6) with two screws (4) and two new lockwashers (5).3. Install plate (3) with two screws (1) and two new lockwashers (2).4. Apply a bead of adhesive sealant (MIL--A--46106) between mating surfaces of hood (11) and appliqué armor,hood (11) and vehicle hull, hood (11) and plate (12), and between mating surfaces of plate (12) and vehicle hull.
