Before operating a new or reconditioned vehi-
cle, make sure unit maintenance personnel
service the vehicle.

CHECKS
Performing preventive maintenance checks

before, during, and after operation makes
sure that all adjustments and daily checks re-
quired for effective vehicle operation will be
completed. Keep vehicle ready for any action.

OPERATING PROCEDURES
Familiarize yourself with operating instruc-
tions on decals and instruction plates itemized

on pages 2-105 thru 2-107. Instructions and
procedures required to operate vehicle under
normal conditions are on the following pages.

use hearing protection
devices to protect against
high intensity noise.
Driver will remain in drivers
compartment while engine is
running.
This vehicle has a semiauto-
matic transmission. It must
be shifted manually.
To prevent engine damage
when engine is hot from
operation, set hand throttle
for engine idle of 1,000 to
1,200 rpm and allow to idle
for 2 to 5 minutes prior to
shutdown.
Start with transmission in
range 1 when driving with a
cold engine.
