Follow hydraulic system safety pro-cedures to prevent injury (TM 9-2350-38-20-2). Wipe UP spilled hydraulic fluid.Make sure hydraulic system is depressurized before performing any hydraulicmaintenance to prevent injury to personnel.Turn on hydraulic system. Refer to TM 9-2350-238-10.Always wear leather gloves whenhandling winch cable. Never allowcable to run through hands. Brokenwires can cause painful injuries. Donot operate winch/crane with lessthan four turns of wire rope ondrums. Failure to observe these war-nings could result in injury topersonnel.Do not stall boom at fully loweredposition. Do not rapidly speed upboom when lowering. Failure tofollow instructions may result indamage to oil pressure tester.NOTESteps 6 thru 19 are written for rightpressure relief valve.Pass end of cable (3) through boom pulley(4). Refer to TM 9-2350-238-10.Attach 5-ton (4.54-metric ton) load onboom block (5).Set boom winch shift control lever (6) toLO.Lift load from ground. Refer to TM 9-2350-238-10.2-168
