TM 9-2350-238-34-22122232425Install brake clutch traversing housing(39) over brake shaft spur gear (40).Aline tabs in housing (39) with slots inbrake traversing slip clutch on brakeshaft spur gear (40).Install retaining plate (41) on brakeclutch traversing housing (39) and securewith four new Iockwashers (42) and fourhexagon head capscrews (43). Torquescrews to 28 to 30 ft-lb (38 to 41 N-m).Secure brake shaft spur gear (40) to pre- vent rotation. Using hammer and drift,adjust adjusting nut (32) and jam nut(33) to produce a maximum holding tor-que of 1060 in,-lb (120 N-m). Whenholding torque is obtained, a torque of525 in.-lb (59 N-m) is applied at thesame time to clutch assembly (24).Using adapter and torque wrench,measure torque between brake clutchtraversing housing (39) and brake shaftspur gear (40).Using bearing replacer, install clutchhousing ball bearing (44) on traversinggear-slip clutch (45).2-243
