Aline mounting holes in gasket,gear, and housing.Using oil seal replacer and remover andreplacer handle, install new plain encasedseal (51) in oil seal retainer (52).Install new ring gear gasket (53) and oilseal retainer (52). Aline scribe line on oilseal retainer and mechanical gear hous-ing (46).Apply sealing compound (item 20, appxB) to twelve socket head capscrews(54).Install twelve socket head capscrews(54) to secure oil seal retainer (52) tomechanical gear housing (46). Torquescrews to 23 to 25 ft-lb (31 to 34 N-m).TM 9-2350-238-34-22-245
