Remove four screws (6), four lockwashers (7) and muffler heat shield (8). Discard lockwashers. 4. Remove six screws (9), six lockwashers (10) and muffler cover (11). Discard lockwashers. 5. Loosen top and bottom clamps (12) by removing two nuts (13), two screws (14) and two lockwashers (15). Dis- card lockwashers. 6. Remove two nuts (16), eight flat washers (17), four springs (18) and top and bottom clamps (12) from two studs (19). NOTE Do not remove studs unless damaged or loosened during removal of clamps. 7. Remove two studs (19), if damaged. 8. Remove muffler (20) and gasket (21) by loosening clamp (22). If necessary, break muffler loose from attached parts.
