CHAPTER 2: VEHICLE MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONSTM 9-2350-256-202-19 ELECTRICAL TROUBLESHOOTING-ContinuedENGINE STARTING SYSTEM-ContinuedWARNING• Place transmission selector in P (park).• Remove all jewelry such as rings, dogtags, bracelets, etc. If jewelry contacts ametal surface a direct short may result ininstant heating of tools, damage toequipment, and injury or death topersonnel.F Reconnect wire 14 to connector on bulkhead side ofneutral safety switch. Open air inlet doors (TM 9- 2350-256-10). Disconnect bulkhead to engine wiring harnessand starter relaywiring harness from bulkheaddisconnect. Place red lead of multimeter on pin A of wire14 and black lead to ground. Turn MASTER switch on,push START switch, and check for voltage. TurnMASTER switch OFF. If voltage is present, go to step G.If voltage is not present, replace/repair wire 14 of switchpanel to neutral safety to bulkhead wiring harness (seeparagraph 6-54).G Reconnect switch panel to neutral safety to bulkheadwiring harness at bulkhead disconnect. Disconnect wire14 of bulkhead to engine wiring harness and starter relaywiring harness from connector near bulkhead disconnect.Place red lead of multimeter on male connector andblack lead to ground. Turn MASTER switch on, pushSTART switch, and check for voltage. Turn MASTERswitch OFF. If voltage is present, go to step H. Ifvoltage is not present, replace/repair wire 14 of bulkheadto engine wiring harness and starter relay wiring harness(see paragraph 6-72).2-68
