CHAPTER 2: VEHICLE MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONSTM 9-2350-256-202-19 ELECTRICAL TROUBLESHOOTING-ContinuedMECHANICAL TRANSMISSION OIL PRESSURE LIGHT-ContinuedWARNINGRemove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags,bracelets, etc. If jewelry contacts a metalsurface a direct short may result in instantheating of tools, damage to equipment, andinjury or death to personnel.A Remove three screws (1), three lockwashers (2), twoscrews (3), two lockwashers (4), and ground strap (5),and release gage panel (6) from mounting brackets.Disconnect connector from MECH TRANSMISSION OILPRESSURE light. Place red lead of multimeter in wire27E and black lead to ground. Turn MASTER switch on,and check for voltage. Turn MASTER switch OFF. Ifvoltage is present, go to step K. If voltage is not present,go to step B.B Reconnect connector to MECH TRANSMISSION OILPRESSURE light. Disconnect gage panel to bulkheadwiring harness from gage panel. Place red lead ofmultimeter in socket K of wire 27 and black lead toground. Turn MASTER switch on and check for voltage.Turn MASTER switch OFF. If voltage is present,repair/replace wire 27/27K of gage panel wiring harness(see paragraph 6-44). If voltage is not present, go to stepC.2-198
