COMMANDERS CUPOLA REPAIR -- CONTINUED

Installation
WARNING
1. Clean all mating surfaces, mounting holes and 12 screws (5) and 30 screws (1) with dry--cleaning solvent, as ap-
plicable.
2. Apply sealing compound (item 42, WP 0716 00) to mating surface between cupola assembly (4) and mounting
plate (3).
3. Using endless sling and suitable lifting device, install cupola assembly (4) on mounting plate (3).
4. Apply sealing compound (item 42, WP 0716 00) to threads and underside of head of 12 screws (5).
5. Install 12 screws (5) and 12 nuts (6) securing cupola assembly (4) to mounting plate (3).
CAUTION
Do not apply pressure sensitive tape when ambient tem-
perature is below 45F (7.2 C). Failure to comply may
cause loss of screw torque and equipment damage.
6. Apply pressure sensitive tape or sealing compound (item 42, WP 0716 00) to mating surfaces of mounting plate
(3) and vehicle hull.
7. Using lifting sling and suitable lifting device, install cupola assembly (4) with mounting plate (3).
8. Apply sealing compound (item 42, WP 0716 00) to threads and underside head of 30 screws (1).
9. Install 30 screws (1) and 30 new lockwashers (2) securing mounting plate (3). Torque 30 screws to 80--90 lb--ft
(108--122 N m). See Diagram for torque sequence.
