Final adjustment is made with the enginerunning.Fig. 71 - Carburetor AdjustmentNOTE: All carburetor adjustments should be made withthe air cleaner on engine. Best adjustments made withfuel tank 1/2 full.FINAL ADJUSTMENTPlace governor speed control lever in "FAST" position.Turn needle valve slowly in until engine misses(clockwise - lean mixture) then turn it out slowly pastsmooth operating point until engine runs unevenly (richmixture). Now turn needle valve to the midpoint betweenrich and lean so the engine runs smoothly. Next, adjustidle RPM. Rotate throttle counterclockwise and holdagainst stop. Adjust idle speed adjusting screw to obtain1750 RPM minimum. Release throttle - engine shouldaccelerate without hesitation or sputtering.
