13 Remove pin (44), spring (45), collar (46), and pull
handle (47).
c. INSPECTION

Inspect seat cushion (4) and seat back cushion
(48) for cuts and tears.

Inspect seat back frame (49) for dents.
3 Inspect two adjuster springs (27) for breakage,
fatigue, and distortion.
4 Inspect adjustment mechanisms for breakage and
wear.
5 Inspect pedestal assembly (50) for undue wear of
components.
d. REPAIR
1
Minor cuts or tears in pads or cushions may be repaired by hand stitching. If damage is extensive, replace
defective parts.

Repair any dents and straighten any bent parts with a mallet. Replace if part does not lend itself to this
type of repair.
