Observe each timethat both right and left brake-apply-and-slack-adjustment levers return to their respective stops. Ifbrakes do not fully release each time, check linkagesand repair or replace any binding, bent, or brokenparts.E Remove left- and center-front air inlet grilles (seeparagraph 9-57). Disconnect one end of throttle rod(see paragraph 9-78). Have an assistant depressaccelerator pedal to its maximum. Depressaccelerator linkage on front of engine to itsmaximum. If a free pm cannot be made, checklinkage and repair or replace any binding, bent, orbroken parts. Check throttle linkage adjustment (seeparagraph 9-78). If a free pm fit can be made, notifyDirect Support Maintenance.F Check purge pump fuel lines between purge pumpand main engine for leaks.G Turn MASTER switch to OFF position. Remove fuelline connected to in port on purge pump. Place fuelline in a container and turn MASTER switch to onposition. If no fuel flows from disconnected fuellines, troubleshoot electric fuel pump (see paragraph2-19).H If fuel flows into container, turn MASTER switch toOFF position and connect fuel line. Disconnect fuelline from out side of purge pump. Place a containerunder purge pump, turn MASTER switch to onposition and operate purge pump. If no fuel flowsfrom purge pump, turn MASTER switch to OFFposition. Replace purge pump (see paragraph 4-9).Remove front air inlet grilles (see paragraph 9-57).Unscrew fuel outlet hose at main engine fuel checkvalve (see paragraph 4-13). Disconnect main enginefuel hose at primary fuel filter (see paragraph 4-14).Operate purge pump with MASTER and fuel pumpswitches in ON position. If no back pressure or onlylight back pressure can be felt during operation,replace main engine fuel check valve (see paragraph4-13).J Remove front air inlet grilles (see paragraph 9-57).Check primer hose and fuel return hose for properconnection at quick-disconnects (see paragraph 3-l).K Check purge pump fuel lines between purge pumpand main engine for kinks or restrictions. Replace orrepair kinks or restricted fuel lines (see paragraph 4-10).Change 1 2-40.13
