CHAPTER 2: VEHICLE MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONSTM 9-2350-256-202-19 ELECTRICAL TROUBLESHOOTING-ContinuedENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE GAGE--ContinuedWARNINGRemove all jewelry such as rings, dogtags, bracelets, etc. If jewelry contacts ametal surface a direct short may result ininstant heating of tools, damage toequipment, and injury or death topersonnel.CReconnect wire 27C to engine oil temperature gage.Disconnect wire 33 from engine oil temperature gage.Turn MASTER switch on and check engine oiltemperature gage for operation. Engine oiltemperature gage should read full scale. Ground caseof engine oil temperature gage and check gage foroperation. Gage should read "0." Turn MASTERswitch OFF. If engine oil temperature gage readscorrectly, go to step D. If engine oil temperature gagefails to read correctly, replace engine oil temperaturegauge (see paragraph 6-8).DDisconnect gage panel to bulkhead wiring harnessfrom gage panel. Check wire 33 in gauge panelharness for continuity by placing red lead of multimeteron wire 33 and black lead on pin E. If continuity ispresent, go to step E. If continuity is not present,repair/replace wire 33 of gage panel wiring harness(see paragraph 6-44).2-102
