CHAPTER 2: VEHICLE MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS TM 9-2350-256-202-19 ELECTRICAL TROUBLESHOOTING-ContinuedENGINE GENERATOR (SINGLE VOLTAGE SYSTEM)-ContinuedWARNINGRemove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags,bracelets, etc. If jewelry contacts a metalsurface a direct short may result in instantheating of tools, damage to equipment, andinjury or death to personnel.PReconnect bulkhead to engine wiring harness andstarter relay harness to bulkhead disconnect.Disconnect wire 1 (from socket C) of electricalaccessories panel wiring harness from switch panel toneutral safety to bulkhead wiring harness. Place redlead of multimeter on male connector of wire 1 andblack lead to ground. Turn MASTER switch on, startengine, and check for voltage. Turn engine andMASTER switch OFF. If voltage is present,repair/replace wire 1 of electrical accessories panelwiring harness (see paragraph 6-47). If voltage is notpresent, repair/replace wire 1 of switch panel toneutral safety to bulkhead wiring harness (seeparagraph 6-54).Q Reconnect bulkhead to engine wiring harness andstarter relay wiring harness to bulkhead disconnect.Disconnect wire 1 of bulkhead to engine bracket andrear fuel tank transmitter wiring harness (fromswitching relay box) from bulkhead to engine wiringharness and starter relay wiring harness. Place redlead of multimeter on male connector of wire 1. TurnMASTER switch on, start engine, open generatorcutout switch and check for voltage. Turn engine andMASTER switch OFF and close generator cutoutswitch. If voltage is present, repair/replace wire 1 ofbulkhead to engine wiring harness and starter relaywiring harness (see paragraph 6-72). If voltage is notpresent, repair/replace wire 1 of bulkhead to enginebracket and rear fuel tank transmitter wiring harness(see paragraph 6-74).2-136
