CHAPTER 2: VEHICLE MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONSTM 9-2350-256-202-19 ELECTRICAL TROUBLESHOOTING-ContinuedAPU GENERATOR SYSTEM (SINGLE VOLTAGE)-ContinuedWARNINGRemove all jewelry such as rings, dogtags, bracelets, etc. If jewelry contactsa metal surface a direct short may resultin instant heating of tools, damage toequipment, and injury or death topersonnel.A Open air inlet doors (TM 9-2350-25610). Disconnectbatteries to master relay, voltage regulator, and slavereceptacle wiring harness from regulator. Place redlead of multimeter on socket A of wire 62/2 and blacklead to ground. Turn MASTER and APU GEN switcheson and check for voltage. Turn MASTER and APUGEN switches OFF. If voltage is not present,troubleshoot battery circuit. If voltage is present, go tostep B.B Place red lead of multimeter in pin A of wire 62/2 andblack lead to ground. Turn MASTER and APU GENswitches ON, start APU, and check for voltage. TurnAPU and MASTER and APU GEN switches OFF. Ifvoltage is present, go to step C. If voltage is notpresent, replace voltage regulator (see paragraph 6-5).C Reconnect batteries to master relay, voltage regulator,and slave receptacle wiring harness to regulator.Disconnect bulkhead to APU, master relay, and rigger'slights wiring harness from regulator. Place red lead ofmultimeter in socket D of wire 61/1 and black lead toground. Turn MASTER and APU GEN switches ON,start APU, and check for voltage. Turn APU andMASTER and APU GEN switches OFF. If voltage ispresent, go to step D. If voltage is not present, replacevoltage regulator (see paragraph 6-5).2-148
