CHAPTER 2: VEHICLE MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS TM 9-2350-256-202-19 ELECTRICAL TROUBLESHOOTING-ContinuedPASSIVE NIGHT VIEWER-ContinuedWARNINGRemove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags,bracelets, etc. If jewelry contacts a metalsurface a direct short may result in instantheating of tools, damage to equipment, andinjury or death to personnel.DDisconnect ground wire from vehicle. Place red leadof multimeter in socket B and black lead on other endof ground wire. Check for continuity. If continuity isnot present, repair/replace ground wire of switch panelto gage panel and miscellaneous switches wiringharness (see paragraph 6-55). If continuity is present,notify Direct Support Maintenance.EDisconnect wire 999 from passive night viewer side ofpassive NIGHT VIEWER switch. Place red lead ofmultimeter on switch terminal and black lead toground. Turn MASTER and passive NIGHT VIEWERswitches on and check for voltage. Turn MASTERand passive NIGHT VIEWER switches OFF. Ifvoltage is present, repair/replace wire 999 of switchpanel to gage panel and miscellaneous switcheswiring harness from passive night viewer to passivenight viewer switch (see paragraph 6-55). If voltage isnot present, go to step F.FReconnect wire 999 to passive NIGHT VIEWERswitch. Disconnect wire 999 from main switch panelside of passive NIGHT VIEWER switch. Place redlead of multimeter in wire 999 and black lead toground. Turn MASTER switch on and check forvoltage. Turn MASTER switch OFF. If voltage ispresent, replace passive NIGHT VIEWER switch (seeparagraph 6-15). If voltage is not present,troubleshoot dome light circuit.2-248
