5. Remove tube (16) from drain valve (17).
6. Loosen six self--locking nuts (18) on mounting flange of generator (5) (self--locking nuts are accessible through
vent openings in generator case).
7. When all self--locking nuts (18) are loose, pull generator away from chaincase (19) to release flat washers (20)
from holes in mounting flange of generator (5).
NOTE
Flat washers must be clear of holes in mounting flange of
generator to permit generator to be turned in the following
step.
8. Turn generator (5) clockwise (as viewed from generator shaft end) about 1.50 in. (3.81 cm) in order for six self--
locking nuts (18) and six flat washers (20) to clear generator case.
WARNING
The generator weighs approximately 94 lbs (43 kg). To avoid injury
to personnel, use at least two persons to lift and carry generator.
9. Pull generator (5) out of and away from drive gear in chaincase (19). Refer repair of generator to support mainte-
nance.
10. Remove six self--locking nuts (18) and six flat washers (20) from each of six studs (21). Discard self--locking nuts.
