Position generator (5) with terminal box between nine and ten o’clock position (when viewed from generator shaftend). Slide generator shaft into gear hub of chaincase (19). If shaft does not fit easily into gear hub, check shaftposition and adjust as necessary.3. Align large holes in mounting flange of generator (5) to permit self--locking nuts (18) and flat washers (20) to passthrough mounting flange. Do not let six flat washers (20) get stuck between chaincase (19) and generator mount-ing flange.4. When six flat washers (20) and six self--locking nuts (18) have cleared mounting flange, turn generator (5) coun-terclockwise (as viewed from the generator shaft end) as far as mounting flange slotted holes will allow. Gain ac-cess through the generator case vent holes and tighten six self--locking nuts (18).5. Install tube (16) to drain valve (17).Figure 343517161920186. Install two wires (14 and 15), with flat washer (13, supplied with generator) and new self--locking nut (12, suppliedwith generator) on terminal B of generator (5).7. Install wire (11), flat washer (10, supplied with generator) and new self--locking nut (9, supplied with generator) onterminal A of generator (5).8.
