Remove metal tube assembly (6) from
traverse brake selector linear valve (7).
Cover metal tube assembly opening.
Remove two tubes (8 and 9) on travers-
ing hydraulic motor (10). Cover tube
openings.
Remove boom and tow winch motor
drain metal tube assembly (11) and tow
winch motor drain metal tube assembly
(12) at hydraulic drain tee (13) on tra-
versing hydraulic motor (10). Cover tube
openings.
Remove metal tube assembly (14) to
clear area for removal of cab traversing
unit (15).
Remove three hexagon capscrews (16)
and three Iockwashers (17).
Use hoist with lifting capacity of
2000 lb (908 kg) to avoid injury
to personnel and damage to equip-
ment.
NOTE
Another M578 Recovery Vehicle
or M88A1 Recovery Vehicle may
be used, if available, for lifting.
Rig hoist and sling through rigger’s
cupola opening. Attach sling to hydraulic
SLING
drain tee (18) and
shuttle valve (19).
Lift cab traversing
it through rigger’s
traverse brake control
unit (15) and remove
cupola opening.
