CHAPTER 2: VEHICLE MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS TM 9-2350-256-202-19ELECTRICAL TROUBLESHOOTING-ContinuedDOME LIGHTS-ContinuedWARNINGRemove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags,bracelets, etc. If jewelry contacts a metalsurface a direct short may result in instantheating of tools, damage to equipment, andinjury or death to personnel.CRemove three screws (3), three lockwashers (4),ground lead (5), and flat washer (6) and release mainswitch panel (7) from mounting brackets. Disconnectswitch panel to gage panel and miscellaneousswitches wiring harness from main switch panel.Place red lead of multimeter on pin E of wire 10 andblack lead to ground. Turn MASTER switch on andcheck for voltage. Turn MASTER switch OFF. Ifvoltage is present, go to step F. If voltage is notpresent, reinstall main switch panel and go to step I.DPlace a jumper wire from pin E to socket E of wire 10.Place red lead of multimeter in socket J of wire38/999 and black lead to ground. Turn MASTERswitch on and check for voltage. Turn MASTERswitch OFF. If voltage is present, repair/replace wire38/999 of switch panel to gage panel andmiscellaneous switches wiring harness (see paragraph6-55 for dual voltage; 6-56 for single voltage). Ifvoltage is not present, go to step E.2-242
