CHAPTER 2: VEHICLE MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS TM 9-2350-256-202-19 ELECTRICAL TROUBLESHOOTING-ContinuedEXHAUST SMOKE GENERATING SYSTEM-ContinuedWARNINGRemove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags ,bracelets, etc. If jewelry contacts a metalsurface a direct short may result in instantheating of tools, damage to equipment, andinjury or death to personnel.O Reconnect driver's vehicle exhaust smoke bracket tobulkhead connection wiring harness to driver'sswitch plate disconnect. Disconnect wire 26B fromdriver's VEHICLE EXHAUST SMOKE switch.Place red lead of multimeter on wire 26B and blacklead to ground. Turn MASTER switch on and checkfor voltage. Turn MASTER switch OFF. If voltageis present, go to step P. If voltage is not present,repair/replace wire 26B of driver's exhaust smokebracket to bulkhead connection wiring harness (seeparagraph 6-93).P Reconnect wire 26B to driver's VEHICLEEXHAUST SMOKE switch. Disconnect wire T fromdriver's VEHICLE EXHAUST SMOKE switch.Place red lead of multimeter on wire T and blacklead to ground. Turn MASTER and driver'sVEHICLE EXHAUST SMOKE switches ON andcheck for voltage. Turn MASTER and driver'sVEHICLE EXHAUST SMOKE switches OFF. Ifvoltage is present, repair/replace wire T of driver'svehicle exhaust smoke bracket to bulkheadconnection wiring harness (see paragraph 6-93). Ifvoltage is not present, replace driver's VEHICLEEXHAUST SMOKE switch (see paragraph 16-4).Q Reconnect driver's vehicle exhaust smoke bracket tobulkhead connection wiring harness to driver'sswitch plate disconnect. Disconnect wire 26B fromY-connector behind gage panel. Place red lead ofmultimeter on connector and black lead to ground.Turn MASTER switch on and check for voltage.Turn MASTER switch OFF. If voltage is present,repair/replace wire 26B of driver's vehicle exhaustsmoke bracket to bulkhead connection wiringharness (see paragraph 6-93). If voltage is notpresent, go to step R.2-356
