Secure machine gun by insert-ing locking pins (4 and 5).3 Machine gun and mount are removed byreversing above steps.4 Remove travel lock pin to unlock cradlefor gun elevation during firing.5 Loosen gun lock clamp to unlock mountfor gun traversing during firing.OPERATING CALIBER .50 MACHINE GUNRefer to TM 9-1005-213-10 for operating in-structions on machine gun.OPERATING FIXED FIRE EXTINGUISHERFixed fire extinguisher system consists of two10 lb (4.5 kg) cylinders provided to ex-tinguish engine compartment fires. Systemcan be discharged from driver’s compartmentor from left side of hull. Fixed fire extin-guisher handle (1) is in driver’s compartmenton wall to left and rear of driver’s seat. Fixedfire extinguisher handle (2) is just below slavereceptacle on left fender box.1 To discharge fixed fire extinguishercylinders, pull handle (1 or 2) out with aquick, hard jerk. This will break seal anddischarge carbon dioxide into enginecompartment.2 After using fire extinguisher, notify unitmaintenance personnel to replacedischarged carboncharged cylinders.dioxide cylinders with2 - 93
