Pre--Installation
1. General
This section provides instructions for the M88A2 Heavy Recovery Vehicle and its component parts to determine
whether all assemblies, subassemblies and accessories are properly assembled, secured, correctly adjusted and lu-
bricated.
NOTE
Do not reinstall engine deck grilles and doors removed
during the pre--installation procedures. Access to engine
and transmission compartments is necessary during sub-
sequent kit installation.
CAUTION
When engine deck is removed, the engine cooling fans
must be suitably protected to avoid the entrance of for-
eign material into the fans, clutches, associated parts, or
any openings.
2. Inspection Procedure
a. Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (TM 9--2350--292--10 and WP 0187 00).
NOTE
Replace any of the items listed that do not provide a wa-
tertight fit.
