b. Main engine cooling fan clutch:
Check the release torque of the main engine cooling fans. The fan clutch should release with a slight drag; if
not, notify authorized maintenance personnel.
c. Condition of batteries:
(1) Check the batteries (TM 9--2350--292--10) to see that they are fully charged and properly filled with elec-
trolyte.
(2) Ensure battery caps are tight. Battery vents must be open.
4. Cleaning
Clean and dry vehicle thoroughly using rags provided in the kit for this purpose. Pay particular attention to sur-
faces that are to be covered with non--hygroscopic tape or sealer. These surfaces must be thoroughly clean and
dry; otherwise, the non--hygroscopic tape or sealer will not stick properly.
5. Lubrication
Lubricate vehicle in accordance with Lubrication Instructions (TM 9--2350--292--10 and WP 0187 00).
6. Left Fuel Tank
Inspect fuel filler cap assembly (WP 0214 00) for proper seal. Repair or replace, as required.
Installation
WARNING
CAUTION
To prevent damage to vehicle, ensure pre--installation
procedures are completed before installing the deep wa-
ter fording kit.
NOTE
Refer to TM 9--2350--292--24P for complete listing of
Deep Water Fording Kit Parts.
Unless otherwise specified, stow items removed for
installation of Deep Water Fording Kit in vehicles stow-
age boxes.
Sealer tape (12367083) is an acceptable substitute for
fording sealer (11672186) and may be used any place
fording sealer (11672186) is required.
Below 45F (7.2C), apply fording sealer (11672186) with
adhesive (MMM--A--1617) to ensure proper adhesion.
This will make compound difficult to remove.
